Maistra Select Island Hotel Istra, Rovinj

The hotel rooms were old-fashioned and cheap-looking, definitely not up to 4-star standards. Despite being clean and acceptable, they were a bit too small and in need of an upgrade. The overall feel was pretty basic and outdated, similar to the main rooms and corridors.

The hotel offers smart and clean rooms with a nice-sized balcony, comfy bed, and good air conditioning. It can get busy at peak times but remains acceptable. The service is extremely kind and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. The location is excellent, with an attached island and regular boats to the mainland, providing great value for a wellness weekend. The dining options are nice and plentiful, perfect for families with a playroom for babies and kids. Overall, a comfortable and convenient choice for a relaxing getaway.

I stayed in a junior suite room for the first time, which was just like the main rooms and corridors; however, it was not up to a standard. The hotel is a resort hotel for babies and kids, which made my stay very pleasant and enjoyable. The service was top-notch with great amenities available. The location was quiet and peaceful, only a 15-minute boat ride away from great islands, but the bathroom could use some refurbishing for improvement. The city of Rovinj, however, was absolutely fabulous and picturesque.

I felt like I was in a transit hotel room near the railway station, like something out of a cheap spy movie. The room was smart and clean with a nice-sized balcony, comfy bed, and good air conditioning, but it could get a little loud at times.
